Check Yo Self: Attitudes & Values Workshop. Delivered by the YEP Project, this workshop is designed to encourage participants to assess how their values and attitudes influence their interactions with others, in particular, with young people.  August 21, Albany.

Creating Safe Spaces: The YEP Youth Sector Guidelines v2.0 Workshop. Delivered by the YEP Project, this workshop will support you to make your service/program/organisation more youth and sexual health and blood borne virus (SHBBV) friendly. August 22, Albany.

YEP Crew Youth Workshop. The YEP Project will be facilitating its first ever youth workshop in Albany. They will be delivering a fun and interactive workshop on a range of SHBBV topics aimed at young people aged 12 to 25. August 22, Albany.

Trans & Gender Diverse Sexual Health 101: Gender Identity Toolkit Workshop. This YEP Project workshop is the first in a two-part series aimed at upskilling youth workers and people who work directly with young people on Trans & Gender Diverse Sexual Health issues. August 23, Albany.

Health Promotion Short Course. Run by Curtin University, this flexible 12 week online course will provide you with the skills needed to plan, implement and evaluate a health promotion program. The course begins on August 13, online.

Boundary Setting & Protective Behaviours. SECCA is delivering this workshop that focuses on how to teach people with a disability about social distance, personal space and social/sexual concepts. August 16, City West Lotteries House.

Professional Development in Outcomes Measurement. The Centre for Social Impact, UWA, are hosting this two-day workshop in August and September. The workshop will build the capacity and capability of your organisation and staff to better measure, understand, and report the difference you are making.

Supporting Puberty and Adolescence. This SECCA workshop provides practical information for parents, teachers and workers to help support young people with a disability to understand the changes experienced at puberty and to manage this life stage with confidence. September 13, City West Lotteries House.

High Resolution Anoscopy Workshop. Presented by the International Anal Neoplasia Society, this is the first high resolution anoscopy basic course in the southern hemisphere. September 29-30, Sydney.

Relationships Education Workshop. SECCA is delivering this workshop that demonstrates interactive strategies that educators, parents or carers can use to teach topics related to relationships. The workshop discusses ways to teach the best practice of Sexuality and Relationships Education, dating, healthy relationships, consent, rejection and break ups. Pathway to Policy. Places are still available for PHAWIA's new research translation project. The course will be relevant to anyone interested in learning how to add value to evidence so that it may be used in a variety of settings, policies and environments.

CONFERENCES & EVENTS

Social Impact Festival. Hosted by the Centre for Social Impact, UWA, this festival is a series of events in July that celebrate initiatives bringing about positive social change, with a focus on Western Australia.

Health Promotion Symposium 2018. The AHPA Health Promotion Symposium will be held on August 23 and 24 in Canberra. The Symposium is an opportunity to share and assess where we are in health promotion and what we need to do, to be better placed to ensure a healthier population within supportive social, built and natural environments.

Australasian HIV&AIDS Conference. Held in Sydney on 24 to 26 September, this is the premier HIV conference in Australian and the Asia Pacific region. 

International Union for Sexually Transmitted Infections Asia Pacific Sexual Health Congress. Held on 1 to 3 November in Auckland, New Zealand, this event will allow delegates to engage in interdisciplinary networking and discuss challenges and opportunities in sustainable sexual health service delivery.

2018 Youth Health Conference. “Owning Future Change” is the premiere Australian interdisciplinary conference for young people, researchers, clinicians, health workers and educators who work to improve, promote and advocate for the health and wellbeing of young people in Australia and beyond. 7-9 November, Surfers Paradise, Queensland.
