Stigma, Discrimination and Hepatitis B: A review of current research

 

Australia’s first National Hepatitis B Strategy 2010-2013 notes that “Stigma and discrimination continue to be unfortunate responses to BBVs” (p.19). The Strategy supports gathering evidence to reduce the impact of any possible hepatitis B related stigma and discrimination, and to better inform nationally coordinated responses. This community brief identifies current knowledge of hepatitis B related stigma and discrimination and recommends future research directions for Australia.
